CCEYD Successfully Commemorates District-Level African Union Anti-Corruption Day

Karaga Gushegu, and Sagnarigu Municipalities, 10th July 2024 – The Centre for Communities Education and Youth Development (CCEYD), in partnership with the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition, successfully commemorated the District-Level African Union Anti-Corruption Day today. This significant event was marked by a series of activities aimed at promoting transparency and accountability within our communities.


Under the theme “Building Evidence for Increased Accountability in Ghana through a Multi-Stakeholder Accountability Initiative,” the event featured engaging discussions on accountability, informative workshops on anti-corruption strategies, and collaborative sessions with various stakeholders.

African Union Anti-Corruption Day Key Highlights included:


• Engaging Discussions: Participants engaged in meaningful dialogues on the importance of accountability and transparency, sharing insights and experiences. These discussions provided a platform for community members to voice their concerns and suggest solutions for combating corruption.
Workshops: Informative workshops were conducted, focusing on effective anti-corruption strategies and best practices. Experts in the field shared their knowledge and provided practical tools that participants could use to foster a culture of integrity in their respective areas.
• Collaborations: The event fostered collaboration among community members, leaders, and stakeholders to promote integrity and combat corruption in our communities. These collaborations are essential in creating a unified front against corruption and ensuring that efforts are sustained over time.
• Student Involvement: There was a special section dedicated to school students, where they learned about the impact of corruption and the importance of integrity. The students actively participated in discussions and activities designed to educate and empower the younger generation. This initiative aims to instill values of honesty and responsibility in the leaders of tomorrow.


The event took place in Karaga, Gushegu, and Sagnarigu Municipalities, drawing a diverse group of participants committed to the cause of eliminating corruption. The inclusive nature of the event ensured that voices from different segments of society were heard and considered.
